Average Weekly Wage (AWW) Calculator

Your AWW is the single most important number in your workers' comp claim. It determines your weekly TTD payments, your permanent disability settlement, and your death benefits. Getting it wrong — even slightly — costs you money every week.

Most AWW disputes favor the employer. Insurance companies routinely use the wrong calculation method, exclude overtime, or use a shorter lookback period. Know your number before they give you one.

Method 2 — 13-Week Lookback (Variable / Seasonal / Tips)

Most states use a 13-week or 52-week average for variable income workers. Enter your gross pay for each of the 13 weeks before your injury.

Multiple Jobs?

If you were working more than one job at the time of injury, many states allow you to combine earnings from all jobs in your AWW. Add your second job here.

* Not all states allow concurrent employment to be included. Confirm with your state's WC board or an attorney.

Fringe benefits may count too. In some states, the value of employer-provided health insurance, housing, meals, or a company vehicle may be included in your AWW calculation. Ask your attorney about this.

Is Your AWW Being Calculated Correctly?

Underpaying AWW is one of the most common insurer tricks. An attorney review is free and can mean hundreds of dollars more per week.
